Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN UTAH & MONTREAL P. Q. / MADE IN JAPAN”. The right side of the barrel is marked “MODEL 81 BLR CALIBER .308 ONLY” over a patent. The lower right side of the receiver is marked with the serial number, “07524NM227”. The bottom of the lever is marked in gold inlay with the Browning logo.

Barrel Length: 20”

Sights/Optics: The front sight is a brass beaded blade dovetailed into a ramped base that is fixed to the barrel. The rear sight is a square-notch tang sight adjustable for elevation that is dovetailed into the barrel. The receiver is drilled, tapped, and filled with a Leupold optic rail that has attached a Bushnell Stalker 3-9x scope with duplex reticle. The scope body has a few minor handling marks, the glass is fairly clear, and overall, rates in Very Good-plus condition.

Stock Configuration and Condition: The stock is a two-piece wood with checkered pistol grip and forend, straight comb, and a smooth black rubber buttpad. The stocks are largely free of any wear or damage, but the belly of the buttstock does have a few moderate nicks. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 14” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The buttpad has only light use-wear. Overall, the stocks rate in Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion, but there is minor stubborn fouling in the grooves.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its metal finish. There are minor handling marks, but otherwise this rifle is free of any notable wear or damage. Screws have minor tool marks with strong slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in Fine-plus condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
