Mechanics: The action functions correctly. This does not function like the current production 700s, when the safety is on you cannot cycle the bolt. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is a two-point leather sling. The sling has some scuffs, scrapes, and discoloration. There are some light creases, the sling rates about Very Good.

Our Assessment: The Remington 700 needs no introduction. It has been one of the most popular bolt action rifles in America for decades, seeing use in target shooting, hunting, and in law enforcement and has been produced in just about any caliber and configuration you could think of. This one is an early C&R example with the square safety selector, different profile bolt handle, and a one-piece sear. This example is chambered in .308 Winchester and would make a great hunting or target shooting rifle. This is a classic Remington rifle in a classic caliber and better still it’s C&R eligible! Please see our photos and good luck!
