Overall Condition: This barreled rifle receiver retains about 94% of its current metal finish. There are infrequent spots of minor erosion under the finish. The rifle shows some operational wear. The trigger group has some scattered minor surface oxidation. The receiver and trigger group show areas of thinning. The rifle shows light scratches and marks on the barrel and the receiver. The markings are clear. Overall, this barreled rifle receiver rates in about Very Good-plus condition as refinished.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: None. Please note, no magazine is included.

Our Assessment: This Quality H.M.C. M1 Carbine was built between 1942 and 1944. It has since been refinished, some parts have been replaced, and a new serial number applied. It needs a stock before you get out to the range but those aren’t too hard to find online. Its mix of parts may also make for a good source for other rebuilds.
