Markings: The left side of the receiver is marked with the serial number at the breech and “Remington / MODEL 700” at the midsection. The left side of the barrel is marked with a warning above “REMINGTON ARMS COMPANY INC., ILION, N.Y. U.S.A.”, “.35 WHELEN” and an inspection mark with “WI Z” at the chamber. The right side of the barrel is marked with inspectors marks at the breech. The bottom of the bolt is matched and hand-marked “3015”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade dovetailed into a serrated ramped base screwed to the barrel and has a protective hood. The rear sight is a “U” notched sight on a slider on an elevation ramp fixed to the rear of the barrel and is adjustable for windage and elevation. The top of the receiver is installed with a pair of base and rings holding a Leupold VARI-X III 2.5×8 scope. The scope has some light handling marks. The scope has a duplex reticle and the glass is clear, the scope rates in about Excellent condition.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a black composite stock with a pistol grip, straight comb, and cheekpiece. The action is bedded in the stock.There are some scattered light handling marks and a few rubs. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures approximately 13 3/8” from the front of the trigger to the back of the black rubber Remignton buttpad. The pad has some light handling wear. The stock rates in about Excellent overall condition.

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its metal finish. The action is bedded in the stock. There are some little marks through the finish on the trigger guard. There are a few little marks into the finish on the barrel, the most noticeable is on the bottom at the muzzle and another on the left side of the rear sight base. There are light handling marks. The markings are clear. The screw sockets are strong. Overall, this rifle rates in about Fine Plus condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The action is bedded in the stock. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is the previously described Leupold scope and a Redding die set. There is one seating die, one full-length size and depreime die, and one neck die.

Our Assessment: The Remington 700 needs no introduction, it has been one of the most popular bolt action rifles in America for decades, seeing use in target shooting, hunting, and in law enforcement and has been produced in just about any caliber and configuration you could think of. This 700 is chambered for .35 Whelen and has a 22” barrel, blue finish, and black synthetic stock. This one has light wear, a great bore, and hitting your mark should be no problem with the included Leupold scope. Please see our photos and good luck!
