Markings: The right side of the frame is marked with the serial number above the trigger, “PARA-ORDNANCE INC. / FT. LAUDERDALE FL”. The bottom of the dust cover is marked “MADE IN CANADA”. The right side of the slide is marked “14.45 Limited”. The top of the barrel visible through the ejection port is marked with the Para logo and “.45 ACP”. The left side of the slide is marked “Para X Hi-Cap”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade and is dovetailed into the slide, it has been painted bright orange by a previous owner. The rear sight is a square notch target sight with a serrated face, it is click adjustable for windage and elevation and is dovetailed into the slide.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are black and gray G-10 with diagonal grooves on the rear 2/3 and dimples along the front 1/3. There are some light handling marks, no major defects. The grips rate in about Excellent overall condition.

Finish Originality: Refinished

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 95% of its metal finish. There are some small spots of finish loss on the edges around the ejection port. There are some little tiny spots of finish loss on the trigger guard and bottom edges of the frame. There are some small spots of finish loss on the right side of the slide at the front edge. There are some tool marks on either side of the rear sight. There is some standard operational wear. The screw heads are undamaged. The markings are easily read and well defined. Overall, this handgun rates in about Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included are two 10-round magazines, paperwork including the manual, and a serial matching case. One mag is MecGar and the other is factory, both have light operational wear and rate in about Fine condition. The case has some scattered light wear on the exterior and some wear and discoloration on the interior, in about Fine condition.

Our Assessment: Para Ordnance has been cranking out double stacked 1911’s like this since 1990 and with a wide reception from the competitive shooting circles, it has become commonplace to see 1911’s capable of carrying 14 round flush-fitting magazines, a huge step over the initial design. This pistol is the P14.45, it has a nice black finish, quick pointing sights, accurate barrel, and a nice trigger. The finish on this one looks great and we only say that it is refinished because the serial matching case states that the finish is Sterling & Stainless. This would make a fine duty, home defense, or competition pistol. Please see our photos and good luck!
