Overall, this rifle rates in Very Good-plus condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: None.
Our Assessment: The Ruger Carbine is the precursor to the venerable 10/22. Quite similar in appearance (even down to placement of the markings) to the 10/22, the Carbine diverges from that rifle with its being chambered for the considerably more powerful .44 Remington Magnum and was designed not for small game but rather larger game like deer—in fact, the Carbine was designed to take down deer in dense brush and at shorter distances. It was even colloquially known as the “Deerstalker”. This example was produced in the second year of Carbine production, and is in Very Good-plus condition, with a good bore, strong mechanics, and much of its original finish. Good luck and happy bidding!
