Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “PL01062”, with a circled “dp” logo, “PEDERSOLI – ITALY / CAL. 45 LColt CAT. 13217” and with two Italian proof marks below. The top of the barrel is marked “E.M.F.-SANTA ANA,CA.”. The left side of the upper tang is marked with two Italian proofs and a boxed “CB” date code.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a brass beaded blade dovetailed into the top of the barrel. The rear sight is a square notched buckhorn elevator sight that is dovetailed into the barrel.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks consist of a checkered wood two-piece forend and a buttstock with a straight grip, straight comb, and a blued carbine buttplate. There are little nicks scattered on the buttstock that are most notable on the belly. The forearm shows a light mark or two. The checkering is sharp and there are no chips or cracks. The LOP is 13 1/4” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The buttplate shows a few faint lines. The stocks rate in about Fine-Plus condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its metal finish. The case coloring on the receiver is fading in certain areas but is generally still strong. There are faint handling marks. The screw heads are sharp and the markings are crisp. Overall, this rifle rates in about Fine-Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, and is very smooth, with a very short movement. The hammer has a half cock notch. The trigger is light with a tiny amount of creep. We have not fired this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This is a Pedersoli reproduction of a Colt Lightning pump-action rifle. This rifle has a round 26” barrel and is chambered in .45 Colt. The rifle is in about Fine-Excellent condition with 98% of its finish remaining. The action is very short and smooth, which means it can be operated very fast without a lot of movement in the barrel. This makes it ideal for Cowboy Action Shooting, where you must stay on target for dumps on a single target as well as staying in the same horizontal plane while traversing from left to right or right to left.
