Box, Paperwork & Accessories: None
Our Assessment: This Springfield Armory M1 Garand was made back in 1942. It has been refinished, given a new(ish) barrel and now has National Match sights installed. The rifle has been rebuilt using a number of interestingly marked parts that tell quite the story. The barrel was made by the Line Material Company. LMR provided M1 Garand barrels for International Harvester. The stock is marked with 2 stampings from the Red River Army Depot who rebuilt a number of M1 Garands, but not this one. The stock is also marked with a Winchester inspector’s cartouche and an Ordnance Department cartouche. This Springfield Armory M1 Garand looks great, has a strong bright bore and has a story to tell.
