Markings: The import mark on the receiver reads “PW ARMS REDMOND WA / SER. # RMN0131119”. The top of the barrel shank is marked with the Soviet crest above “1943r / Hr6395” above the arrow in a triangle (Izhevsk Arsenal symbol) and with various small Soviet stampings. The left of the chamber is marked with “b04593” with a crossed line through it. The base of the bolt handle, left of the chamber, and bottom metal are marked “Hr6395”. The buttplate is marked “HB5886”. There are small Soviet stampings including an Izhevsk mark on the magazine tang, extractor, and safety. The left side of the rear sight base is marked “Mod. 91/30 7.62x54R”. The right side of the chamber ring is marked “MADE IN RUSSIA” above a triangle symbol, diamond symbol, and “13”. The right side of the chamber also has the diamond symbol. The stock has cartouches including a PCFCP cartouche.
The scope is marked with a number in a triangle, “M”, star above a hammer & sickle in a pentagon and “4406296”. The scope mount is hand marked “Hr-6395 / 4406296”.
The following is from page 148 of Terence Lapin’s book, The Mosin-Nagant Rifle 5th Edition: “NOTE: Scope mounts serial-numbered to the individual rifle are reputed to be Polish rather than Russian. On many post-World War II Polish sniper rifles the scope’s serial number was stamped on the left side of the receiver just above the stock; this was not done on Soviet rifles.”
Barrel Length: Approximately 29 Inches
Sights / Optics: The front sight is hooded post. The rear sight is a “U” notched sliding sight escalator marked from “1-20”.
The rifle comes with a two-piece side-mounted scope base. Part is secured to the side of the receiver with 2 screws and 2 pins. 2 capture screws are also installed to keep the main screws in place. 2 vertical rear screws and an oversized screw secure the detachable mount in place. 2 scope rings are attached to the mount. 3 top screws tighten the rings to the scope. The fixed 3.5 power scope has a heavy post reticle. The adjustment knobs turn. The top knob is marked “0 1 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13” and the side knob is marked “10 5 + 0 – 5 10”. The scope has a few light marks and a coat of cosmoline. The glass is clear, it rates in about Fine condition.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The two-piece hardwood stock has a straight grip, finger grooves, metal nose caps, cut out for the included cleaning rod, two barrel bands, two sling eyelets, through bolt, cut out for the scope base, and a metal buttplate. There are some draglines, marks through the finish, and little compressions. There are a few scratches and little scrapes, they are mainly on the sides of the buttstock towards the rear and on the handguard. There are light handling marks. The LOP measures approximately 13 1/2 inches from the front of the trigger to the back of the butt plate. The plate has some finish loss, scabbed oxidation, and some little marks into the finish. The stock rates in about Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is deep and strong. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 95% of its metal finish. There are a few little marks into the finish but they are very infrequent. The marks are most noticeable on the magazine and receiver. There are a couple spots of hardly noticeable discolroation on the barrel. There are some scuffs on the bolt handle and standard operational wear on the bolt. There is light handling wear. Most of the markings are deep. The screwheads show light use. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good Plus condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: The rifle comes with a scope assembly; see above. There is also a box and sling. The sling has a few scuffs and minor wear, in about Fine condition.
Our Assessment: This Mosin Nagant started life as a Model 91/30 at the Izhevsk Arsenal in 1943, so it was around for WWII. It has been made into a 91/30 PU sniper and has a scope assembly included. The metal looks great and the majority of the wear is on the buttplate. The bore is impressive and is bright with sharp rifling. Paired with the scope, it should make for a nice shooter. These are tough rifles that were the workhorses of the Russian Army and you should be able to use this one at a distance. Please see our photos and good luck!
