Our Assessment: Here is another really sweet design from Ruger, the Model Ninety-Six chambered in .44 Magnum. It is a neat lever action that feeds from a detachable 4-round box magazine. The rifle takes styling cues from their legendary 10/22 and the 44 Carbine and has an 18 ½” barrel, blued finish, and a smooth wood stock. This one looks great with the majority of the wear being to the lever and wood but the bore is great and the lever is really smooth. This gun just screams fun and is something you don’t see all too often these days. These have been out of production for quite some time so now is the time to pick up a nice one like this! Please see our photos and good luck!
