Our Assessment: This is Smith & Wesson Performance Center Model 629-5 Extreme Hunter made for Lew Horton. It features a 12” barrel, and at the time of production was the longest barrel Smith had ever put on a modern wheel gun. The revolver has a long under lug on the barrel with a sling swivel attached and another one attached to the bottom of the Hogue Monogrip on its round butt grip frame. The finish is glass bead stainless steel and it has hardly a mark. This one comes with a Leupold style base and rings installed and ought to make an absurdly fun target shooting revolver and will also be a great hunting gun as the name implies. Being a Performance Center made for Lew Horton distributing, it will also be a great addition to a collection of Smith & Wesson revolvers given its high condition. Please see our photos and good luck!
