Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “FREEDOM ARMS MODEL 252 .22 LR / *FREEDOM, WYOMING U.S.A.*”. The left side of the frame is marked “PAT. NO. 4126953”. The bottom of the frame in front of the grip frame is marked “G 0560”. The right side of the frame is marked “FREEDOM ARMS / VARMINT CLASS”. The rear face of the .22 WMR cylinder is marked “22 / M” and “0560”. The rear face of the .22 LR cylinder is marked “G0560”.

Barrel Length: 7 1/2?

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a replaceable brass beaded blade on a ramped base screwed to the barrel. The rear sight has been removed and the topstrap is installed with a one-piece Leupold-style base.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece black laminated hardwood panels. The panels have no notable wear or damage with only light handling marks. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in about Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is strong. There is no erosion in the bore.

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 96% of its metal finish. There are some little draglines and light scuffs, most noticeable on the barrel at the muzzle and grip frame. There are a few light handling marks. There is a faint dragline on the cylinder. There is a streak on the bottom of the barrel from the cylinder pin. The screw heads are sharp except for the cylinder pin screw which has light wear. The pinheads are unmarred. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in Fine Plus condition.

Mechanics: The cylinder lock-up is solid with barely perceptible movement. The action functions correctly. The hammer has a ½ cock safety position. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This revolver comes in a one-piece blue cardboard Freedom Arms box with blue foam interior sections and serial-matching end-label, and conversion cylinder in a leather pouch. The conversion cylinder has a few faint scuffs and a hardly noticeable dragline, in about Excellent condition.

Our Assessment: Freedom Arms makes premier quality firearms, and this single action Model 252 Varmint Class revolver is no exception. The action, trigger pull, and build quality are exceptional. This one looks great and comes with a .22 LR and .22 WMR cylinders.
