Markings: The top of the barrel is marked with a two-line Ruger warning. The top of the polymer handguard is marked with the Ruger phoenix logo, “RUGER” in a vertical orientation, and “®”. The left side of the receiver is marked with the serial number, “630-10303”, “RUGER DEERFIELD® CARBINE”. The top of the receiver behind the rear sight is marked “.44 MAGNUM”.
Barrel Length: 18 1/2”
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a beaded brass blade dovetailed into a banded base that is pinned to the barrel. The rear sight is a flip-up peep sight that is adjustable for elevation dovetailed into the receiver at the rear. The receiver rib is notched for Ruger rings (not included).
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one-piece smooth wood with pistol grip, straight comb, and black polymer buttplate. There is a sling stud on the belly and a hinged sling stud on the barrel band. The stock shows scattered minor nicks and dings most notable on the left side of the forend and buttstock. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13 3/4” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The buttplate shows moderate scuffs at the heel and toe with a few light nicks in between. Overall, the stock rates in Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its metal finish. The action and magazine well show light operational wear, the receiver shows intermittent minor thinning along the edges, and the barrel shows a single white scuff on the bottom near the forend cap. The screws show minor toolmarks with strong slots, and all markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in Fine-plus condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This Deerfield Carbine includes two (2) 4-shot magazines that show light operational wear, have intact feed lips, and rate in Very Good-to-Fine condition. Each magazine is hand-scribed, one with “1”, the other with “2”.
Our Assessment: A semi-automatic .44 Magnum rifle such as this Deerfield Carbine is an ideal choice for hunting larger game like black bears or deer at shorter distances in heavy brush, as the heavy round has a lot of stopping power. This example is in Fine-plus condition with a bright bore, sound mechanics, and very little wear.
