Markings: The action is bedded to the stock so we were not able to disassemble the rifle to view the internal markings.
There is no visible import mark.

Barrel: “4 GR 1 10 308 WIN 98 91 / 1 SHORT CHAMBER” – A modern replacement barrel.
Bolt: “6528287-SA / A11” – A Springfield part (page 53).
The stock and sights are described below.
Barrel Length: Approximately 24 Inches
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade set between two protective wings. The rear sight is a fully adjustable National Match aperture sight set between two protective wings. The face of the sight riser is marked “NM”. The windage knob is marked “LEFT arrow” twice and “DRC”. The elevation knob is marked from “2-12” in increments of two and “NIC”.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The face of the grip is marked with a “P” proof and a partial stamping.
The hardwood stock has a pistol grip, metal nose caps, stacking loop, two sling loops and a metal buttplate with hinged door for storage in the butt. The buttplate shows scrapes, light thinning and a spot of discoloration. The stock shows several light scrapes, thin scratches and shallow compression marks. The wood also shows areas of discoloration. The LOP measures 13 inches from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The stock rates in about Very Good Plus to Fine overall condition as refinished.
Type of Finish: Parkerized. Blue Barrel.
Finish Originality: Original to Rebuild
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is some fouling around the gas port hole which should clean up. There is no erosion. The bore shows an M.E. of 0.5.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 95% of its metal finish. The metal shows scrapes, scuffs and handling marks. The operating rod and left side of the receiver show some oxidation. The right side of the receiver and front of the bolt show thinning consistent with cycling. Most of the markings are deep. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good Plus condition to Fine condition as refurbished.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: The rifle comes with a leather sling. It shows discoloration, creasing and light scrapes on the leather. The metal shows scrapes & oxidation.
