Markings: The left side of the receiver is marked with the serial number at the breech and “Remington / MODEL 700” at the midsection. The left side of the barrel is marked “416 REM MAG” and with an inspection mark and “RN”. The bottom of the bolt is hand-etched “3793”. The right side of the chamber is marked with magnaflux, proof, and test marks.

Barrel Length: 22″ Heavy

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade dovetailed into a serrated ramped riser screwed to the barrel. The rear sight is a “U” notch on a slider on an elevation ramp fixed to the barrel and is fully adjustable. The top of the receiver has two pairs of drilled, tapped, and filled holes.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The textured gray checkered stock has a pistol grip, straight comb, cheekpiece, and sling stud in the belly. There is another sling stud mounted to a band on the barrel. The stock has a few light marks and dings, most noticeable on the cheekpiece. There are some light handling marks and the texturing is strong. The LOP measures approximately 13 1/2″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the solid black rubber Remington recoil pad. The recoil pad exhibits light handling wear. The stock rates in about Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 96% of its metal finish. The rifle has some light handling wear and draglines. The sling stud barrel band has some spots of dark discoloration from previous oxidation. The rear sight assembly has spots of dark discoloration from previous oxidation and the front sight assembly has some surface oxidation. There is standard operational wear. The screw heads are lightly used with no major damage. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
