Our Assessment: The Winchester Model 70 has long been a staple among American sportsmen, a great example of Winchester’s design and craftsmanship, well deserving of its moniker “The Rifleman’s Rifle”. This example is a Model 70 Carbine chambered for .270 Winchester. With its short, 20″ barrel, this rifle is light and handy, but still able to drop most North American game animals. This will make someone a great hunting rifle, especially if you expect to walk over long distances or want something that handles well in close brush. Please see our photos and good luck!
