The underside of the receiver and the area ahead of the rear sight show small areas of thinning. The right side of the receiver shows thinning from cycling. The markings are deep. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good Plus to Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: None
Our Assessment: This WWII Springfield Armory M1 Garand was made back in 1944. It has been rebuilt using all Springfield parts. The rifle was converted to fire .308 Winchester during the rebuild. The conversion does not appear to have been done by the Military as the markings are not consistent with a Military conversion.
