Markings: The butt is marked with the serial number. The left side of the barrel is marked “SMITH & WESSON”. The right side of the barrel is marked “38 S.&W. SPL.”. The right side of the frame is marked with the four-line Marcas Registradas address. The left side of the frame is marked with the S&W monogram logo. The yoke cut is marked “MOD. / 36”. The yoke and sides of the grip frame have inspection marks. The interior of the right panel is stamped “408103”.

Barrel Length: Nominal 2” Pinned, 1 7/8″ Measured

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated ramped blade integral to the barrel’s tapered rib. The rear sight is a square notch in the top strap.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two piece checkered wood magna stocks with S&W medallions at the tops. There are light handling marks and a few little faint marks through the finish. The marks through the finish are mostly on the butts. There is a light compression on the left panel behind the medallion. The checkering is strong. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in about Fine-Excellent condition.

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. There are some light handling marks and draglines from use and storage. There is a faint turn line that has thinned the finish. The sideplate has some mottled discoloration that is only visible in certain lighting conditions. There is operational wear on the hammer and trigger. There is a light turn line not through the finish. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver is in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The cylinder lockup has very little play on each chamber. The double action is smooth. The single action trigger is crisp. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
