Markings: The top of the barrel is marked “MADE IN THE 200th YEAR OF AMERICAN LIBERTY”. The left side of the barrel is marked “STURM, RUGER & CO. INC., SOUTHPORT CONN. U.S.A.” The left side of the frame is marked “RUGER OLD ARMY®”. The right side of the frame under the cylinder is marked with the serial number “140-28285”. The cylinder is marked twice with “FOR BLACK POWDER ONLY”.

Barrel Length: 7 ½”

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a ramped blade integral to a base fixed to the barrel. The rear sight is a square notched leaf, adjustable for windage and elevation pinned to the topstrap.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The two-piece smooth wood grips sport a silver Ruger emblems on each panel. The grips have light handling wear with a few scattered minor nicks most notable on the bottom of the left panel and at the toe of the right panel. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in about Fine condition.

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion.

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 96% of its metal finish. There are minor handling marks, and the barrel shows a few light nicks along the right side. There are minor forging pores on the loading lever assembly. The cylinder shows a turn line through the finish. The screw heads show light tool marks with strong slots, and all markings are clear. Overall, this revolver rates in Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The cylinder lock-up is good with minor play on each chamber. The nipples are unobstructed. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This revolver includes a Taylor’s & Co. Inc./R&D Gun Shop .45 Colt conversion cylinder  and a brown leather Ruger belt holster made by Bianchi. The conversion cylinder shows a few light handling marks, but is otherwise free of any notable wear or damage. The indexing stud shows no wear, and overall, the cylinder rates in Excellent condition. The holster shows scattered light scuffs, a more notable marr on the right side near the tip, and rates in Fine condition.
