Markings: The top tang is marked “N31407S / ONYX”. The water table is marked with Italian proofs. The bottom of the receiver is marked “MADE IN ITALY”, and with the Beretta logo over “BERETTA / 686 Onyx”. The trigger plate is marked “PATENTED”. The receiver has jeweling on either side. The sides of the receiver are also marked “BERETTA” with the company logo. The sides of the hinge pins have floral engravings. The protected portion of the forend metal is marked with the serial number. The left of the top barrel is marked “12 GA. 3? – 76 – 28”” and “BERETTA – MADE IN ITALY / GARDONE V.T.”. The bottom left of the top barrel is marked with a proof and “18.4”. The right of the top barrel is marked “BERETTA U.S.A. CORP. ACKK. MD.” and a warning to read the manual. The bottom of the bottom barrel is marked “KG 1,390 -18.4” and with two proofs and the date code behind the forend lug and the monoblock is marked with the serial number. The left side of the bottom barrel is marked “-EXCELSIOR- HIGH STRENGTH ALLOYED STEEL”. The right side of the bottom barrel is marked “636037”

 Barrel Length: Both barrels are 28?, Vent-Rib

Choke: The top barrel is currently installed with an Improved Cylinder choke and the bottom is installed with a Skeet choke. Three additional chokes are included and they are Full, Modified, and Improved Modified

Sights / Optics: A small silver bead is installed on the top of the rib at the muzzle. The top of the rib is checkered to reduce glare.

Weight: 7 lbs, 4.6 oz

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece checkered walnut with schnabel-tip forend, pistol grip, straight comb, and a black rubber Beretta buttpad. The only notable imperfection is a small nick in the finish on the schnabel. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 14 3/4” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The drop at comb measures approximately 2” and 2 3/8” at the heel. The cast is slightly off. The pad has light wear. Overall, the stocks are in about Fine-Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bores are bright. There is no erosion in the bores.

Overall Condition: This shotgun retains approximately 98% of its metal finish. There are just a few fine marks on the barrels and the handling wear on the receiver. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun is in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly including ejectors. The action locks up tight with no play. The safety engages automatically when opening the action. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is a black Beretta soft canvas case, the previously mentioned extra chokes, an additional firm buttpad, sling swivels, and a choke wrench. The case has some light storage wear, in about Fine condition. The additional buttpad shows some light discoloration that will likely clean off, in about Fine condition.
