Markings: The left side of the receiver, the bolt carrier, bolt, trigger guard, stock, and the magazine cover are marked with the serial number “3T3887”. The receiver cover is marked with the Tula Arsenal arrow in a star stamp and “1954r”. The right side of the barrel is marked “CAT ST ALB VT / SKS7.62 X 39 RUSSIA”. The receiver’s serial number has “ET” stamped above the prefix. The serial number is also hand-scribed on the bottom of the gas tube and the buttplate. There are various proof marks and factory stamps on the rifle.

Barrel Length: Approximately 20 1/2”

Sights / Optics: The front sight is an adjustable, hooded post. The rear sight is a “U” notched sliding escalator marked from “1-10” and “-n-” at the base.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is wood with a pistol grip, through bolt, sling swivel loop, cutout for the included folding bayonet, ventilated handguard, and a sheet steel buttplate with a cleaning kit trapdoor (kit included). There are light handling marks and scattered light nicks and scuffs, most notable along the comb, on the left side of the stock below the bolt carrier, and at the through bolt port. There is a cluster of drag lines on the left side of the buttstock. The LOP measures 12 1/2” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The plate has scattered light wear, with thinning on the heel and toe and is shy to the stock. Overall, the stock rates in about Very Good-Plus condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion, but there is some minor stubborn fouling.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 91% of its metal finish. The receiver and receiver cover show light scattered nicks, most notable below the Tula arsenal marking. The barrel and gas tube show light nicks, most notable on the top of the barrel near the import mark and on the right side of the gas tube. Screws show light tool marks and have strong slots. The original markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle includes an olive drab sling that shows light handling wear and some light stains at the ends. The sling rates in Fine condition. A cleaning kit is stored in a compartment in the buttstock.
