Year of Manufacture: The date code is AM which corresponds to 1921, but based on the serial number, we believe that this one was made in 1943 and the date code should be A MM but just was not struck.

Markings: The top of the barrel is marked “REMINGTON ARMS CO., INC., ILION, N.Y. MADE IN U.S.A. / BROWNING’S U.S. PATS. 689,283 – 710,094 – 730,870 – 812,326” and with “U.S.” followed by the flaming bomb. The left of the receiver marked “U.S.” followed by the flaming bomb and “MILITARY FINISH”. The left of the receiver is also marked “Remington / REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. / 483000″. The left side of the barrel is marked “12 GA. FOR 2 ¾ OR SHORTER SHELLS”, “CYL”, AM” and with an inspection mark. The right side of the barrel has the REP proof mark in oval and a test mark. The bolt is marked “MODEL 11”. The left bow of the trigger guard is marked with an inspection mark. The barrel is marked with the serial number and inspection marks. The left side of the butt has a crossed cannon and “FJA” cartouche.
Barrel Length: Approximately 22”, 27 ¾” to the end of the Cutts compensator choke.
Choke: The installed choke measures Improved Modified
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a bright bead set on the compensator. The receiver is serrated to reduce glare.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece smooth walnut with a flat-bottom pistol grip, straight comb, and serrated Remington buttplate. There are a few light compressions and draglines. There are a few marks into the wood, most noticeable on the toe and right side of the buttstock down by the toe. The LOP measures approximately 14″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The plate has some scuffs, nicks, and a few shallow scratches. Overall, the stocks are in about Fine Plus condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with no erosion.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 95% of its metal finish. There are a few minor scuffs and draglines. There are some freckles of frost and a few spots of light surface oxidation, most noticeable on the top tang and back of the receiver. There are a couple shallow hairline scratches on the left of the receiver. There are some tool marks on the magtube cap. The screwheads are sharp to lightly worn with strong slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun is in about Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
