Markings: The left side of the receiver is marked “/26\”, three Chinese Characters that translate to “TYPE 56”, and the serial number “8150393”. The import mark on the left side of the receiver is marked “7.62X39 SKS MADE IN CHINA GEF HB CA”. The top of the bolt carrier, left of the bolt, bottom of the magazine cover, bottom of the trigger guard, and rear of the receiver cover are each marked with the last five digits of the serial number.
Barrel Length: 20 1/2”
Sights / Optics: The front sight is an adjustable hooded post. The rear sight is a “U” notched sliding escalator marked from “1-10” and “-n-” at the base.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is wood with a pistol grip, straight comb, chromed sheet steel buttplate with a cleaning kit trapdoor (kit included), a sling swivel side-mounted to the gas tube band and bottom of the buttstock, ventilated handguard, and a cutout for the folding blade bayonet. There are scattered minor nicks, scrapes, and scratches most notable on the left side under the forend finger groove. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 12 1/2” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The buttplate shows light scuffs. Overall, the stocks rate in Very Good-plus condition.
Type of Finish: The front sight base/bayonet lug, the rear portion of the barrel, the rear sight assembly and the receiver are blued. Other parts are chrome plated. This finish pattern is consistent with Arsenal 26 “Honor Guard” rifles.
Finish Originality: This rifle was refinished for export to the United States.
Bore Condition: The chrome-lined bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 95% of its metal finish. The chrome surfaces show light wear with scattered light scuffs and minor nicks, most notable on the receiver cover. There is a more notable nick on the left side of the bolt carrier. The blued receiver is free of any notable wear or damage. The front sight shows minor finish loss. The screw heads are sharp, and the markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle includes a blue canvas sling and cleaning kit stored in the buttstock. The sling shows minor wear from handling, and rates in about Very Good condition.
