Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “FREEDOM ARMS .454 CASULL / FREEDOM, WYOMING U.S.A.”. The left side of the frame is marked “PAT. 4228607 / 4126953”. The bottom of the frame is marked “DF3630”. The left side of the grip frame is hand marked “DF3630” and the left “89408-38”. The right side of the frame is marked “FIELD GRADE”. The front face of the cylinder is marked with the serial number.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated ramped blade set on a smooth ramped base fixed to the barrel. The front sight is secured with an allen head at the front of the base. While not currently installed, a flat top sqaure notch rear sight is included, it is screwed to a bae with windage and elevation adjustments. A Leupold M8-2X Extended Eye Relief fixed power scope is mounted with two-piece rings mounted to a one-piece base. The scope features a fine duplex reticle with clear glass. The scope body shows a line of dings on the top of the focal lens bell. The scope rates in about Fine condition.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are Pachmayr rubber checkered grips with brass-colored medallions. The grips show light wear with strong checkering. There are no rips or tears present. The grips rate in about Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.

Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 97% of its metal finish. Light handling and storage marks can be found on this revolver. The cylinder shows a light dragline. There is operational wear on the hammer and trigger. The hammer serrations and screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver rates in about Excellent condition.

 

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. With the trigger depressed the lockup has hardly perceptible movement, with the hammer back it is SOLID. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is the previously described Leupold scope, an aftermarket foam-padded hard case, key to the case locks, and paperwork including an original sales receipt and manual.
