Action Type: Lever Action with Internal Box Magazine

Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER / SPECIAL STEEL BARREL” and at the rear with an “NP” proof, the top is marked “.30-06 CAL.”, the right is marked “WINCHESTER / LICENSED / U.S. REPEATING ARMS CO., NEW HAVEN, CT. U.S.A. / MADE IN JAPAN”. The right of the receiver is marked with the serial number. Each side of the receiver has scroll engraving. The top tang is marked “WINCHESTER / MODEL 1895” under the tang sight.

Barrel Length: 24″

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a brass beaded blade pinned into a base fixed to the top of the barrel. The rear sight is a square-notch semi-buckhorn elevator sight dovetailed into the top of the barrel. The top tang is drilled and tapped with a folding Marble’s aperture sight installed, adjustable for windage and elevation.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece checkered walnut with schnabel forend, straight grip, straight comb, a sling stud in the belly (the other is mounted to the barrel in front of the forend) and smooth steel buttplate. The stocks have a few scattered light nicks and scratches with one more notable nick on the right of the comb and a small bruise in the belly. The checkering is sharp. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13 1/4″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The plate has minor wear at the heel. Overall, the stocks are in about Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. Our gauge shows an ME of about 2.0.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its metal finish. There are a few scattered minor marks and faint operational wear. Otherwise, there are only light handling marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in about Fine-Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The rifle has a rebounding hammer and a tang-safety. The trigger pull is crisp. We have not fired this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
