Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are 2-piece smooth walnut with banded forend, straight grip, straight comb, and steel crescent buttplate. The stocks have scattered nicks, dings, scuffs and scratches. There is a more notable bruise in the comb just in front of the buttplate which has been sanded smooth. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The plate has scattered nicks, scratches, minor surface oxidation and a void in the finish on the face toward the top. Overall, the stocks are in about Very Good condition as possibly not original to the gun, and refinished Antique.

Type of Finish: Blue

Finish Originality: Refinished

Bore Condition: The bore is gray with well defined rifling. There is light erosion scattered through the bore.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 70% of its current metal finish. The finish is thinning at all edges. The barrel has mostly gone to a light patina with areas worn to white around the magazine bracket and barrel address, scattered nicks, scuffs and scratches, and tool marks at the sight dovetails. There is a filled dovetail on the bottom of the barrel in front of the forend, either for a previous magazine bracket or a forend nosecap bracket. The barrel extension and receiver have stronger blue finish with scattered nicks, scuffs, scratches, as well as erosion under the finish. There are some more notable dings on the left of the receiver at the bottom-rear. The action shows operational wear including wear on the magazine tube from disassembly/reassembly. The screw heads range from sharp to lightly disfigured with useable slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in about Good-Very Good condition as refinished, modified Antique.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The hammer has a half-cock safety and the lever safety functions properly. The trigger is crisp. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: None
