Markings: The left side of the receiver is marked with the serial number at the breech and “Remington / MODEL 700” at the midsection. The left side of the barrel is marked with a warning above “*****REMINGTON ARMS COMPANY, INC. ILION, N.Y. U.S.A.*****” followed by “308 WIN” and with an inspection mark and “BF 22″ at the receiver. The right side of the barrel is marked with magnaflux, proof, and test marks at the breech. The bolt is matched to the rifle and the bottom is marked “8808”.

Sights / Optics: There is no provision for iron sights. The top of the receiver is installed with a one-piece Redfield Leupold-style base.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is skipline checkered wood with a fluted monte carlo comb with a cheekpiece and a ventilated black rubber Pachmayr buttpad. The nose and butt of the wrist are black-capped with white spacers and the buttplate also has black and white spacers. There are sling swivel studs front and rear. The stock has been custom bedded. There are some scattered light compressions and draglines. There is a straight line marked into the wood behind the tang, likely an indexing line from the bedding job. The nosecap has some scratches, mainly on the right side. There are some dings into the finish, some of the most noticeable are on the belly and on the right side about in line with the chamber. The checkering is intact and attractive. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures approximately 14 1/8” from the front of the smooth trigger to the back of the buttpad and approximately 12 ¾” to the wood. The pad has some light handling marks and has remained supple. The stock rates in about Fine overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 91% of its metal finish. The bolt has operational wear from use. The bolt handle has finish loss and some discoloration from previous oxidation. The barrel has some nicks and scratches, most noticeable forward of the nosecap. The chamber has a few spots of discoloration from previous oxidation. The barrel has some little spots of faint thinning. The muzzle has thinning. The receiver has light handling wear. The bottom metal assembly has a few marks into the finish. The tang has a little mark into the metal, likely an indexing mark form when the barreled action was bedded in the stock. The markings are strong, the screw heads are sharp to lightly worn with strong slots. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good-Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
