Markings: The left of the barrel is marked “SPORTING / BERETTA – GARDONE V.T. – MADE IN ITALY / OB HP 12 Ga. 76 mm for 2 3/4″, 3″ – 30″ – 18.6″, the right is marked with Beretta’s two-line warning address. The left of the receiver is marked “A400 – Xcel – 12 GA / MADE IN ITALY – PATENTED”, the right is marked with a Beretta logo, “Xcel” and at the bottom-front edge with the serial number and “IT 16”, the bottom-front is marked with Italian proofs and “CP” in box date code. The right of the bolt is marked “-BLINK-“, with an Italian proof, and the serial number. The left side of the barrel under the stock line is marked with proofs and the date code and the right side is marked “XB185189 IT16” and “ALLOYED CR. MO. QUENCHED HIGH TENSILE STEEl”. The bottom of the barrel is marked “0237695”.
Barrel Length: 30”, Vent-Rib
Choke: The barrel is threaded for Optima Bore HP chokes. Installed is an Extended Improved Cylinder choke.
Sights / Optics: There is a white bead in a base at the front of the vent rib. There was previously an alignment bead at the midsection but it is absent and there is an empty drilled and tapped hole. The top of the rib is finely checkered and the top of the receiver is serrated for glare reduction.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are a two-piece checkered walnut set with black synthetic nosecap, pistol grip which will accept a Beretta Gun POD system (not included), fluted straight comb, and Beretta Kick-Off recoil system. The stocks have some scattered compressions and handling marks. There is a cluster of light compressions on the belly. There are some on the comb and a few small spots of finish loss. The heaviest and most noticeable defect is a compression on the right side of the forend towards the front. The front of the wrist has a few small marks through the finish. The checkering is strong with only a few little light compressions. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 14 1/8″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the pad. The pad has wear at the heel and toe. Overall, the stocks are in about Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright, there is no erosion.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 96% of its metal finish. There is some finish loss on the edges of the ejection port. The barrel has some light thinning at the muzzle and a small little scratch. There was previously an alignment bead at the midsection but it is absent and there is an empty drilled and tapped hole. The action shows minor operational wear. Otherwise, there are only light handling marks. The pinheads are unmarred. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun rates in about Fine Plus condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
