Markings: The left side of the receiver is marked “BENELLI U.S.A. CORP., ACCOKEEK, MD.-MADE IN ITALY” and has proofs and the date code. The side of the bolt is marked with a proof. The right of the receiver is marked “MR1”, “BENELLI ARMI”, “CAT. 16594”, and has the serial number. The right of the handguard is marked with Benelli’s two-line warning. The left of the barrel, visible through the ventilate handguard, is marked with the date code, proofs, and “TWIST 1:9””.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade in a base that is integral to the handguard and there are protective ears extending from the polymer handguard. The rear sight is an LPA Sights peep sight that is housed in a base with protective ears that is screwed to the receiver. The rear sight is adjustable for windage and elevation.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are black polymer with a finger groove forend, straight comb, traditional pistol grip with grooves, sling pass-through on the bottom of the forend, sling swivel base on the belly, and a black rubber buttpad. There are some rubs and a few faint scuffs. The LOP measures approximately 13 3/4 inches from the front of the trigger to the back of the black ventilated rubber buttpad. The pad has light wear with no major defects. The stock rates in about Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The chrome-lined bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is what appears to be some faint surface erosion at the muzzle.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its metal finish. There are a few little rubs and scuffs, some of which have caused smooth spots. There is standard operational wear and light handling wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear and easily read. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is a 5-round magazine and paperwork including the manual. The mag has some light thinning and finish loss form standard use, in about Fine Plus condition.
Our Assessment: This Benelli Model MR1 Semi-Auto rifle chambered for 5.56 NATO that is capable of accepting standard AR-15 magazines. The rifle has a futuristic look but a familiar feel, and with a name like Benelli marked on it, it is sure to perform. The rifle uses Benellis ARGO stystem, or “Auto Regulating Gas Operating”, just like in some of their tactical shotguns that have been used in various conflicts. The rifle has an ambidextrous magazine release, ambidextrous bolt release, and crossbolt safety. This one looks to have seen little use and is ready for a spot in your safe!
