Markings: The top of the receiver is marked “U.S. RIFLE M1A / SPRINGFIELD / ARMORY / 192062”. The top of the bolt is marked “7790186-SA / F00154”. The bottom of the muzzle brake is hand marked “873”. The right side of the front sight is marked “Trijicon H3 06”.
Barrel Length: Approximately 16.25 inches; 18.25 inches to the front of the muzzle brake.
Sights / Optics: The front sight is an XS post set between two protective ears, dovetailed to a base fixed to the barrel. The post has a vertical white line and a tritium lamp. The lamp has mostly dimmed. The rear sight is a fully-adjustable aperture set between protective ears. There is an integral mounting point for an optic on the left of the receiver (no optic included) and a clip-guide is currently dovetailed to an extension on the top of the receiver in front of the rear sight.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is textured black synthetic with a pistol grip, straight comb, folding steel buttplate, and sling swivels front and rear. The buttplate contains an upward swinging shoulder guard. There is no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13 1/8 inches from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The stock rates in about Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its metal finish. There are a few scattered minor marks, most notable in the gas block. The oprod and bolt have minimal operational wear. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork& Accessories: The rifle comes in a cardboard Springfield Armory box with serial-matching label, a total of two 10 round magazines, owner manual along with an Army Technical Manual and other paperwork. A blue plastic Springfield Inc. ring is hanging from the trigger guard. The box has scattered light storage wear, in about Very Good condition. One magazine shows minor operational wear, intact feed lips and a strong spring, in about Fine condition. The other magazine is still sealed in plastic.
Our Assessment: This Springfield M1A Socom 16 looks great and has a strong bore that shines. This would be a great rifle for hunting, competition or recreational target shooting. This M1A is in Excellent condition, showing little sign of use. It should make its new owner smile every time they take it out to the range.
