Our Assessment: This is Smith & Wesson’s Model 29, built on the N-Frame with a square butt. With its 4″ barrel, this would make a great revolver to carry when hunting or fishing, or even just when running around the property if you live where predators roam. It will also be great for recreational target shooting if you like .44 Magnums, but can also use mild .44 Special loads for longer range sessions. The revolver appears to have seen gentle use, retaining strong mechanics and a great bore, so this should still prove to be a great shooter. It’s also in high enough condition that Smith collectors will likely show interest. Please see our pictures and good luck!
