Markings: The top of the receiver is marked with the serial number under the lever, each side is marked “SPORT” with “828U” at the front, the bottom is marked with a Benelli logo and “BENELLI ARMI URBINO / BENELLI USA CORP / ACCOKEEK MD”, the water table has two Italian proofs and “CT” in box date code. The left of the top barrel is marked “12 GA. 3? – 76mm – FOR 2 3/4? OR 3? SHELLS / READ OWNER’S MANUAL BEFORE USING GUN”, the left of each is marked with an Italian proof. The bottom of the monoblock is marked with two Italian proofs, “CT” in box date code and the barrel serial number marked on the included label. The bottom of the bottom barrel is marked “33 18-482”. The right of the top barrel is marked “BENELLI ARMI S.P.A. – URBINO – MADE IN ITALY”.

Choke: The barrels are threaded for Crio chokes with Full, Improved Modified, Modified, Improved Cylinder and Cylinder extended chokes included.

Sights / Optics: There is a white bead in a base at the front of the rib.

Weight: 8 lb., 0.3 oz.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece fish-scale checkered AA-Grade walnut with finger-grooved forend, carbon-fiber Benelli logo capped pistol grip, straight comb and black rubber Progressive Balancing recoil pad system (modular weights included). The stocks have no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks. There are no chips or cracks. The checkering is crisp. The LOP measures 14 5/8? from the front of the trigger to the back of the pad. The drop at comb is approximately 1 1/2?, drop at heel 2 1/8?. The cast is about neutral. The cast and drop are adjustable using the included shims. The pad has no notable wear or damage. Overall, the stocks are in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bores are bright. There is no erosion in the bores.

Overall Condition: This shotgun retains approximately 99% of its metal finish. There are light scuffs on the barrels from the forend, concealed while assembled. Otherwise, there are only light handling marks. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun is in Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The action locks up tight with no play. The safety does not engage automatically when the action is opened but functions properly when engaged manually. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This shotgun comes in a gray plastic Benelli case in a brown cardboard Benelli box with serial-matching label. Accessories include the extra chokes, choke wrench, replacement mainspring, Progressive Balancing weights, Benelli oil, stock shims, an assortment of factory paperwork including manual, wrenchest for adjustment, and sticker label marked with matching receiver and barrel serial numbers. Except for the sticker, all of the accessories are housed in a Benelli 828U plastic case which is still sealed. The box has light storage wear with a deep scratch on one side. The case and accessories are in Excellent condition.

Our Assessment: This is a Benelli 828U Sport. The 828 is Benelli’s first over-under shotgun offering. Much like their wildly successful semi-automatic shotgun lines, the 828U is innovative, stylish, and beautiful. With fish-scale accents on the stocks, carbon-fiber vent-rib, a unique locking system and Benelli’s Progressive Comfort recoil system, this is a shotgun as beautiful as it is innovative. This shotgun still has the factory stickers and hang-tags on the barrel and its accessory case is still sealed, not appearing to have seen any use.
