Markings: The left side of the slide is marked “SIG SAUER P226”. The right side of the frame is marked with the serial number and “SIG SAUER INC. / EXETER-NH-USA”. The right side of the chamber is marked “9MM PARA / SIG”. The top of the slide is marked “LEGION” in front of the rear sight under a chevron.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade with a tritium lamp inside a green ring, it isn’t a dovetail at the muzzle. The rear sight is a square notch with a serrated rear face and two tritium lamps, it is dovetailed at the rear of the slide. The lamps glow bright and are easily acquired in low light environments.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are checkered G10 panels with Legion medallions and smooth borders that enclose the backstrap and leave the checkered front strap exposed. There are no major defects, just light handling. The grips rate in about Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. There is faint handling wear and faint operational wear. There are no major defects. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are sharp. Overall, this handgun rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: The pistol comes with a black serial matched hard case, paperwork including the manual, three magazines, a zippered case, and a challenge coin. The 15-round mags have light handling wear with some finsih loss from use, in Fine Plus condition. Please note, no magazines will be transferred if prohibited by your local laws.
Our Assessment: The P226 is a time-tested platform that has seen use in militaries and law enforcement agencies alike. This is the upgraded Legion model which sports a grey PVD finish, Grayguns designed trigger with overtravel adjustment, night sights, contoured extended beavertail, trigger guard undercut, and more aggressive checkering to name a few upgrades. With its reputation for reliability and durability, you can’t go wrong with it. It was developed for U.S. military trials when the military wanted a 9mm service pistol and only lost the bid because of the total package price. While it did not win the contract, the U.S. Navy Seals liked what they saw and decided to adopt the pistol. If you’re looking for your next handgun for home defense or duty carry this handgun is surely up to the task! With a plethora of loads available for the popular 9mm cartridge, ammo should be fairly easy to come by, and there is sure to be something suited to your taste.
