Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its metal finish. The barrel is possessed of a few very minor nicks running along the left side; these do not disrupt the metal. Otherwise, there is no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in about Fine-to-Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. There is a safety mounted on the rear of the bolt. Pulled to the rear, the safety is ON, locking both the bolt and the trigger. If pulled back half-way, it blocks only the trigger. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork, and Accessories: This rifle comes in a hinged-lid, red velvet-lined interior wood display case.
Our Assessment: The Winchester Model 70 is an iconic American sporting rifle which has been a staple of hunters for more than 80 years. This example is a limited production Ultra Grade Featherweight. The rifle features 24K gold with gorgeous engraving by Bottega Giovanelli, deluxe checkered walnut and comes with a nice display case. The rifle appears to have spent more time in its case than out, in Fine-to-Excellent condition with the only visible wear in the stock being a few minor nicks.
