Markings: The left side of the frame is marked with Italian proof marks including “21” in a box which is the Italian date code for 2021. The left side of the rib is marked with the outline of a rhino. The right side of the barrel is marked “RHINO 30DS / .357 MAGNUM / Made in Italy by Chiappa Firearms / Chiappa Firearms, Dayton, OH” and features the serial number “CFIT20P08260”. The cylinder is serial matched and has Italian proof marks.

Sights/ Optics: The front sight is a blade with a red fiber optic insert and is pinned to a ramp integral to the ventilated rib. The rear sight is a screw-set serrated square-notch with two green fiber-optic inserts and is pinned to the top strap. The rear sight is adjustable for windage and elevation.
Stock Configuration & Condition/ Grip: The grips are two-piece black textured rubber. There are no major defects, just light handling wear. There are no rips or tears. Overall, the grip is in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion.
Overall Condition: The pistol retains about 98% of its metal finish. The gun has some light handling marks but it lacks any notable defects. The markings remain clear. The screwheads are unmarred and serviceable. Overall, the revolver is in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The single-action trigger is crisp and double-action is smooth. The cylinder locks with barely perceptible play on each chamber. We have not fired this revolver. As with all used firearms, it may need a thorough cleaning to meet your maintenance standards.
Box Paperwork and Accessories: The pistol comes with its serial matched box, a sticker depicting Einstein firing two revolvers, a plain Chiappa sticker, a cleaning brush, a user manual, some paperwork, a safety lock, a key for rear sight adjustment, and three moonclips.
Our Assessment: This Chiappa manufactured Rhino 30DS is a single and double-action revolver chambered for .357 Magnum rounds. The brainchild of Italian gun designers Emilio Ghisani and Antonio Cudazzo, the Chiappa Rhino was born. The Rhino series of revolvers feature a unique design that focuses on its bore axis. The gun still has a kick, but the low bore axis of the revolver reduces the muzzle rise and makes the gun easier to handle than a number of its competitors on the market. The futuristic design of the pistol was perfectly suited to sci-fi themed films, and it made its debut in the 2012 remake of Total Recall which starred Colin Farrel.
