Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN, UTAH·MADE IN JAPAN/MIROKU”, the right is marked “BLR LT WT CALIBER 7MM-08 REM ONLY / PATENT NO. 3377731”. The left side of the shank is marked “NP”. The right side of the receiver is marked with the serial number. The trigger guard is marked with a gold buck mark.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a brass beaded blade dovetailed into a ramped base screwed to the barrel. The rear sight has been removed and in its place, a picatinny rail supporting a Burris Scout has been installed. The scope has a 2-7x magnification and a Burris Ballistic Plex reticle with long eye relief. The scope shows some fine external marks and the lenses are clear. The scope rates in about Fine condition overall. The top of the receiver has two sets of drilled, tapped, and filled holes.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece checkered walnut with a high gloss finish, a schnabel tipped forend, pistol grip, fluted straight comb, and firm black rubber Browning recoil pad. There is a sling stud front and rear. The most notable imperfections are some nicks and scratches on the bottom of the forearm. There are a few others scattered on the buttstock. There is scattered light handling wear. The checkering is sharp. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13 3/4” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The pad has some light wear and light discoloration. The stocks rate in about Fine overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright, and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its metal finish. There is one little scratch on the left side of the receiver. There are some other barely perceptible marks on the receiver and bottom metal. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The hammer has a quarter-cock safety. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with two 4-round magazines, factory matching box, and paperwork including in a manual.
Our Assessment: This Japanese made Browning BLR lever action takedown rifle has a removable magazine, something you don’t see on most lever action rifles. It is in Excellent condition. The lever throw on this rifle is very smooth due to its gear-style mechanism, so this should really be a fast handling rifle. What makes it even more interesting is that the trigger is mounted in the lever, not in the receiver, which is nice so there is no danger of smashing your trigger finger if you leave it in the trigger guard when working the action. The 7mm-08 chambering is a great round for hunting which is usually readily available commercially. It also comes with a clean Burris scope to get you started. This should make a nice hunting rifle, brush gun, or addition to a Browning or lever-action rifle collection. Please see our photos and good luck!
