Markings: The left side of the slide is marked “FABRIQUE NATIONALE D’ARMES DE GUERRE / HERSTAL BELGIQUE”, “BROWNING’S PATENT DEPOSE”, and with a proof and inspector’s mark. The right side of the frame and slide and the left protected portion of the chamber are marked “20292”. The chamber is marked with two Belgian proofs, an inspector’s mark, and “CAL 9m/mP”. There are numerous small factory markings on protected areas.

Barrel Length: 4 5/8”

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a rounded blade dovetailed to a boss at the front of the slide, it is not original to the gun. The rear sight is a “V”-notch type 2 tangent sight in a base integral to the slide. The arm graduates from “50” to “500” meters.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece checkered synthetic grips. These grips are not original to the gun. The grips show moderate wear with the most notable imperfection being a chip at the top rear of the right panel. There are nicks and scratches along the smooth borders. The checkering is sharp. Overall, the grips are in about Good condition. The backstrap is slotted for a shoulder stock.

Type of Finish: Matte Blued

Finish Originality: Refinished

Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright with well defined rifling. There is some minor pitting at the muzzle.

Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 90% of its metal refinish. There are scattered little scratches. The front sight has taken a plum hue. There is erosion under the finish at the rear of the slide. There is operational wear. The slide serrations are sharp. The markings are legible. The screw heads are lightly tool marked. Overall, this pistol is in about Very Good-Fine condition as refinished.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. It has a frame mounted safety and the round hammer has a half cock safety position. This pistol still has a functioning magazine disconnect and the trigger pull is crisp. The slide has minor play on the frame. We have not fired this pistol. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes with a Canadian Inglis shoulder stock and a single 13-round magazine. The stock is marked “S. A. LTD / 1945” and has a green canvas belt loop. It is not original to this gun. It has various compressions, nicks, and gashes. There are no chips or cracks and it rates in about Good-Plus condition. The magazine shows considerable operational thinning with some scattered little marks. The magazine rates in about Very Good condition. Please note, no magazine will be included where prohibited by law.

Our Assessment: This is a pre-war Hi-Power with a Small Arms Ltd shoulder stock. This pistol has a bright bore and decent mechanics and retains about 90% of its metal refinish. Please see our photos and good luck!
