Markings: The right side of the frame is marked with the serial number above the trigger, “PARA-ORDNANCE INC. / FT. LAUDERDALE FL”, and “MADE IN / CANADA”. The right side of the slide is marked “P14.45”. The top of the barrel visible through the ejection port is marked with the Para logo and “.45 ACP”. The left side of the slide is marked “Para-Ordnance”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade with a recessed white dot and is dovetailed into the slide. The rear sight is a Caspian target sight with a square notch and serrated rear face, it is click adjustable for windage and elevation and is dovetailed into the slide.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grip is a black rubber Hogue grip with finger grooves and their pebble texture. The grip has some light wear and the texturing is strong. The grips rate in about Fine-Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 93% of its metal finish. There is some thinning on the leading edges. There is some thinning on the bushing. There are a few scattered light marks. The slide and frame both have light arcs into the finish from takedown. The left front corner of the front sight has a ding. There is some standard operational wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are easily read and well defined. Overall, this handgun rates in about Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is a 10-round magazine in about Fine condition with light wear from normal use.

Our Assessment: Para Ordnance has been cranking out double stacked 1911’s like this since 1990 and with a wide reception from the competitive shooting circles, it has become commonplace to see 1911’s capable of carrying 14 round flush-fitting magazines, a huge step over the initial design. This pistol is the P14.45, it has a nice black finish, quick pointing sights, accurate barrel, and a nice trigger. This would make a fine duty, home defense, or competition pistol.
