Our Assessment: If you need a reason to own a M1A from Springfield Armory, here’s three: iconic lineage, reliability, and power. The M1 Garand became the workhorse of the American military during WWII and it earned a place of honor and prestige in the history books. The Garand was replaced by a souped up version with a detachable box magazine: the M14. The traditional wood-and-steel combat rifle design would only remain a battlefield staple for a few more years before the M16 came knocking. Still, the M14 served as a marksman rifle for the US military and would earn its own following of diehard fans thanks to its reliability in the field and the power behind the projectiles. Whether you need a firearm to help stock your freezer with game or challenge yourself at long distance range targets, the M1A is a sturdy, tried-and-tested design that belongs in everyone’s collection. This particular M1A was designed and inspired to produce match-winning accuracy while holding true to the original M14 GI stock. This rifle is truly an iconic masterpiece and should be the heart’s desire for any collector. Good luck and happy bidding!
