Our Assessment: This is a 4th year 2nd Generation Single Action Army in .45 Colt. Someone slicked up the action and reduced the hammer profile, the pistol retains about 85% of its finish and shows sharp metal to metal fit. The grip straps are silver plated and have natural tarnish, this would have been an additional special order option from the factory. The gun looks to have been used honestly and still looks great with the stag horn grips. If you want a gun that will mature in popularity and worth down the road, you cannot beat a Colt, their SAA line will always have a place in America’s heart and helped change the direction of history in the 1870’s, when it was dubbed the “Gun that Won the West”.
