Markings: The left side of the slide is marked “BROWNING ARMS COMPANY / MORGAN, UTAH & MONTREAL P.O.”. The right side of the slide is marked “FABRIQUE NATIONALE HERSTAL / MADE IN ITALY” and the “PB” logo. The barrel is marked, visible through the ejection port, “CAL. 9 Short / .380 Auto”. The right side of the frame is marked with the date code at the very rear and two Italian proofs on the trigger guard bow. The left side of the frame is marked “BDA-380 425 PY 10510”. There is a proof on the right side of the barrel.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a small blade integral to the slide, the rear sight is a dovetailed square notched blade at the rear of the slide.
Stock Configuration & Condition: This pistol is fit with two-piece smooth wood grips that each contain a brass Browning medallion. Both panels show maybe a couple barely perceptible handling marks. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, this grips rate in about Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 98% of its metal finish. The balance of finish shows very light handling. The trigger, safety, and slide stop have taken a pleasant plum hue. The screw heads are lightly tool marked with strong slots. The markings are crisp. Overall, this pistol rates in about Fine-Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The slide is equipped with an ambidextrous safety with a de-cocker. We did not fire this pistol. As with all firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes in a soft Browning leather case with a single 10-round magazine. The case shows no significant wear and rates in about Excellent condition. The magazine shows faint spots of thinning from operational wear. The magazine rates in about Excellent overall condition.
Our Assessment: The Browning BDA was manufactured by Beretta between 1977-1997. This pistol feels great in the hand and is practical for concealed carry as well as home defense. The example has a great bore and retains a magnificent 98% of its original finish. Please see our photos and good luck!
