Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “FREEDOM ARMS MODEL 252 .22 LR / *FREEDOM, WYOMING U.S.A.*”. The left side of the frame is marked “PAT. NO. 4126953”. The bottom of the frame in front of the grip frame is marked “G 0599”. The right side of the frame is marked “FREEDOM ARMS / VARMINT CLASS”. The rear face of the .22 WMR cylinder is marked “22 / M” and “0599”. The rear face of the .22 LR cylinder is marked “G0599”.
Barrel Length: 7 1/2″
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a replaceable brass beaded blade on a ramped base screwed to the barrel. The rear sight has been removed and the topstrap is installed with a one-piece Leupold-style base and a pair of rings holding a Leupold M8-4X Extended ER scope. The scope has some scattered light handling marks but no major defects. The scope has a duplex reticle and the glass is clear. The scope rates in about Excellent condition.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece black and dark green laminated hardwood panels. The panels have no notable wear or damage with only light handling marks. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in about Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is strong. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 96% of its metal finish. There are some scuffs that have caused smooth marks, the most noticeable are on the grip frame. There are scattered light handling marks. There is a light turn line on both cylinders. The screwheads are sharp. The pinheads are unmarred. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in Fine Plus condition.
Mechanics: The cylinder lock-up is solid with barely perceptible movement. The action functions correctly. The hammer has a ½ cock safety position. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is the previously described scope, a spare .22 LR cylinder, Freedom Leather holster, and a soft case.
Our Assessment: Freedom Arms makes what are probably the highest quality single-action revolvers in the world, and this single action Model 252 revolver is no exception. The action and trigger pull are exceptional. The lockup is solid with no movement. The stainless finish with the unfluted cylinder is very appealing to the eye as well as functional in being nearly impervious to the elements. This example has a 7 1/2? barrel, a Leupold long eye relief scope, and an extra .22 Long Rifle cylinder. Paired with Freedom Arms’ quality, this is a really nice package for the handgun hunter, outdoorsman, or Freedom Arms fan. Please see our photos and good luck!
