Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 96% of its metal finish. There are some scattered minor nicks, scuffs and swirls. There is a more notable nick on the left recoil shield. There are a few spots of minor oxidation on the grip frame with some more notable oxidation on the .22 LR cylinder. The action shows minor operational wear with minor turn-lines on each cylinder. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver is in Very Good-Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The cylinder locks up with very little play on each chamber. The trigger is crisp. We did not fire this revolver. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This revolver comes in a two-piece cardboard Colt box fit for the revolver and extra cylinder and with a manual. The box has moderate storage wear with fraying and tears on the lid portion.

Our Assessment: The Frontier Scout is a scaled down version of it’s predecessors/grandfathers, the SAA and Frontier Six Shooter. Made by colt and true to the original design, this one was made in 1965 and comes with cylinders chambered for the ubiquitous .22 Long Rifle cartridge as well as the more powerful .22 Magnum. It is a “K” model, having a slightly heavier Zamac frame when compared with the original Frontier Scout’s aluminum alloy frame as well as a desirable nickel finish. This example is in Very Good-Fine condition with light wear in its finish, some minor oxidation and comes with its original box. This should make a fun little plinker for the lucky winner or a great addition to a Colt collection. Please see our photos and good luck!
