The checkering is well defined. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 14 1/4″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the recoil pad, 13 3/8″ to the back of the wood. The drop at the front of the comb is approximately 1 1/4″, 1 3/8″ at the rear of the comb, drop at heel 2 1/8″. The cast is about neutral. The pad has light wear at the heel and around the edges, but is still supple. Overall, the stocks are in Very Good-plus condition.

Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 96% of its metal finish. The barrels have strong finish with the only notable wear being from the forend, concealed when assembled. The receiver has thinning finish at the bottom edges, continuing onto the forend. There is handling wear on the guard and controls. The action shows minor operational wear. There are a few other scattered minor marks. The screw heads are lightly tool marked with strong slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun is in about Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The barrels lock up to the receiver with no play. The safety does not engage automatically when the action is opened, but does function properly when engaged manually. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: None.

Our Assessment: The iconic Model 101 is a shotgun with legendary styling and handling and the unquestionable reliability you expect from Winchester firearms. This example has a 30″ barrel example choked Full over Improved Modified. In Fine condition, this shotgun has wear consistent with light and responsible use, maybe even a trip or two in the field, but still has bright bores and strong mechanics. This will make for a fine hunting or sporting shotgun for the lucky winner. Please see our photos and good luck!
