Markings: The left shoulder of the barrel is marked “THE MARLIN FIREARMS CO. NORTH HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A. / — MODEL 1895 CAL. 45-70 GOVT. —“. The left rear of the barrel is marked with the JM proof mark. The upper tang is marked with the serial number.
Barrel Length: 20″
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a brass beaded blade that is dovetailed to the barrel. The rear sight is a flip-up semi-buckhorn elevator sight with a U-notch leaf. The rear sight is dovetailed to the barrel. The top of the barrel is drilled, tapped, and filled in four places for mounting an optic (not included).
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece smooth walnut with a capped forearm, straight grip, straight comb, checkered black hard rubber Marlin buttplate, sling swivel front and rear, and Marlin “bullseye” in the belly. There is a light dragline on the left rear of the forearm. There are a few light nicks on the sides of the buttstock. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13 3/4″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The plate shows some light discoloration and the checkering is sharp. Overall, the stocks are in about Fine-Plus condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its metal finish. There are some tiny nicks on the edges on the lever. There are a few minor handling marks here and there. The action shows light operational wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in about Fine-Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly and smoothly. The lever safety is present and functions properly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
