Markings: The left of the barrel is marked “KIMBER MFG. INC. YONKERS, NY, USA .300 WSM SUPERAMERICA” and has an encircled “P” at the chamber. The left of the receiver is marked with the serial number and “Kimber 8400”. The underside of the bolt handle is matched and hand inscribed “978”.

Sights / Optics: There is no provision for iron sights. The top of the receiver is installed with a pair of two-piece bases and rings holding a Leupold VX-II 3-9x40mm scope. The scope has some light handling marks. The scope has a duplex reticle and the glass is clear. It rates in about Excellent condition.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one-piece checkered AAA walnut stock with an ebony forend tip, steel-capped pistol grip, fluted straight comb, cheekpiece, and a black rubber buttpad. There are some little draglines and light handling marks. There are a couple of scratches, the most noticeable are on the left side at the toe and on the left side at about the bolt release. The checkering is mostly sharp. The LOP measures approximately 13 3/4” from the front of the trigger to the rear of the pad. The pad has no major defects. The stock rates in Fine Plus overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. There is some stubborn copper fouling at the muzzle.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 96% of its metal finish. There are some scuffs that have thinned the finish and little marks through the finish on the barrel, most noticeable on the right side toward the front. There is some finsih loss on the edges of the muzzle. The receiver has some light handling wear. The floorplate has a couple light marks. There is some light operational wear. The screw heads are undamaged. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. This rifle has a three-position safety and a claw extractor. We have not fired this rifle. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This is a beautiful rifle from Kimber chambered in .300 WSM. The rifle comes packed with all the signature Kimber action features including a two-lug bolt, a Mauser-style non-rotating claw extractor, a mechanical blade ejector, and a pivoting left-side bolt release. It also has a Winchester 70-type three-position safety lever located on the bolt shroud. Combine that with the blued finish and AAA checkered walnut stock and you have a rifle that is a perfect combination of beauty and performance.
