Our Assessment: This is a Winchester Big Bore Model 94 AE with a 20” barrel chambered in .307 Winchester. This top eject rifle is in Excellent condition, appearing to have seen limited use, if any. The .307 Winchester cartridge was designed to give the same performance as the .300 Savage, but out of a tubular magazine lever action rifle. The cartridge is quite similar to .308 Winchester, but with a rimmed case which has beefed up case walls. Speaking of beefed up walls, the Winchester Big Bore rifles have a specially designed reinforced receiver to accept the suite of new cartridges introduced for use in them. Carbines like this one are quick handling and capable of fast shot strings as compared to a bolt action with a long barrel. In addition, carbines are light, easy to carry, and don’t have a tendency to snag on every bush you pass. This will make someone a great deer rifle that can also be used on black bears. Drop a bid on this American classic today. Please see our photos and good luck!
