Markings: The left side of the upper barrel is marked “BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN, UTAH / MADE IN JAPAN/MIROKU”. The left of the monoblock is marked “24123”, “44”, “P”,  and “INVECTOR / PLUS / 28””. The bottom of the monoblock is marked with proofs. The right of the top barrel is marked “CITORI SPECIAL STEEL 20 GA-2 3/4””. The inside of the forend iron is marked “24123” and the inside of the forend is stamped “BA24123”. The top tang, under the lever, is marked with the serial number. The sides of the receiver are marked with a Buck Mark followed by “Ultra XS Skeet”. The sides and bottom of the receiver and the lever have scroll engraving with gold accents. The bottom of the trigger guard has a Buck Mark logo.

Barrel Length: 28” Ported Vent-Rib

Choke: The currently installed chokes are Modified over Skeet.

Sights / Optics: The front sight bfiber optic insert is missing but there is an empty base fixed to the front of the rib and all you have to do is install a fiber optic rod. The rib has an empty drilled and tapped hole at the midsection for an alignment bead. The top of the rib is checkered for glare reduction.

Weight: 6 lb., 14 oz.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are checkered walnut with a pistol grip with a right handed palm swell and fluted straight comb. The forend has a few little marks into the finish and a compression, the most noticeable are on the right side. The buttstock has a few little marks into the finish, some of the most noticeable are on the right side of the wrist at the receiver up towards the top and belly. There is some light wear on the edge of the pistol grip. There is a little crack on the left side of the wrist at the rear of the trigger guard. There are a few spots of glue or residue on the tomb at the rear. The checkering is mostly sharp. The LOP measures approximately 14” from the front of the trigger to the back of the KickEez buttpad and 13 ¼” to the wood. The drop at comb is approximately 1 5/8” and at heel 1 3/4”. The pad has some scattered light wear. The stocks rate in about Very Good-Fine overall condition.

Type of Finish: Blue & Silver Nitride with Gold Accents

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bores are bright with no erosion.

Overall Condition: This gun retains about 97% of its metal finish. There is some light handling wear and a few rubs on the frame. The silver nitride shoulders attached to the barrel set have a few freckles of minor discoloration. There are a few freckles of light discoloration on the barrel lugs visible on the bottom of the frame. There is some light wear on the edges of the muzzles. There are a few light marks scattered over the barrels. There are a few marks on the edges of the rib. The front sight insert and alignment bead are missing from the rib. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are crisp. Overall, this gun rates in about Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The shotgun features a single selective trigger and ejectors. The barrels lock up solidly. The safety does not engage automatically when the action is opened but does function properly when engaged manually. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: Browning Citori shotguns are extremely dependable and make for great investments. This example is a Citori XS Skeet, or Ultra XS Skeet, with 28” ported barrels threaded for Invector Plus chokes and chambered for 20 gauge 2 ¾ inch shells. Aside from the tiny crack in the buttstock, it has wear consistent with normal use by at the range, retaining strong mechanics, bright bores, and a tight lockup.
