Markings: The left side of the receiver is marked with the serial number at the breech and “Remington / MODEL 700” at the midsection. The left side of the barrel is marked with a warning above “REMINGTON ARMS COMPANY INC., ILION, N.Y. U.S.A.”, “220 SWIFT”, an inspection mark, and “RN N” at the chamber. The right side of the barrel is marked with inspectors marks at the breech. The bottom of the bolt is matched and marked “2660”.

Sights / Optics: There is no provision for iron sights. The top of the receiver is installed with a pair of bases and rings holding a Weaver Classic 6-24×42 scope. The scope has some light handling marks. The scope has a duplex reticle and the glass is clear, the scope rates in about Excellent condition.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a textured black synthetic with gray webbing, a pistol grip, straight comb, and black rubber buttpad. There are a few scattered light rubs and marks. There are no chips or cracks. The action is bedded in the stock. The LOP measures approximately 13 1/2” from the front of the trigger to the back of the black rubber Remington buttpad. The pad has some light handling wear. The stock rates in about Excellent overall condition.

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There are two very small spots of erosion about 6” from the muzzle.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. There are light handling marks and light operational wear on the bolt. The markings are clear. The screw sockets are strong. Overall, this rifle rates in about Fine Plus condition and would be an easy Excellent if not for the bore.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. A trigger job has been done and the action is bedded in the stock. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The Remington 700 needs no introduction, it has been one of the most popular bolt action rifles in America for decades, seeing use in target shooting, hunting, and in law enforcement, and has been produced in just about any caliber and configuration you could think of. This 700 is chambered for .220 Swift and has a 24” barrel, matte blue finish, and textured synthetic stock.
