Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “BENELLI ARMI S.P.A. – URBINO –ITALY”. The right side of the barrel is marked “12 GA. 3” – FOR 2 ¾” OR 3” SHELLS / READ OWNER’S MANUAL BEFORE USING GUN”. The right side of the receiver is marked “BENELLI U.S.A. CORP. – ACCOKEEK, MD. – MADE IN ITALY” and is marked with the serial number. The left side of the receiver is marked “12 GA.-M1 SUPER 90- BENELLI -ITALY” and has proofs and the date code. The bolt is marked “BENELLI ARMI SYSTEM”. The recoil pad is marked “BENELLI”.
Barrel Length: 18 ½”
Choke: The barrel is threaded for chokes and installed with Improved Cylinder.
Sights / Optics: The barrel has a base with metal ears, protecting a cylindrical post with a white dot, integral to a threaded shaft, secured with a nut. The front sight is adjustable for windage and elevation. The rear sight is a ghost ring with two white dots and is in a base that is adjustable for windage and elevation and screwed to the receiver.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The forend is a checkered synthetic stock with ergonomic finger grooves. The buttstock has a rubberized pistol grip, a straight comb, and ambidextrous sling point attachments. There are some scattered little rubs that have caused little smooth spots. The LOP measures 14 1/4” from the front of the trigger to the back of the rubber recoil pad. The stocks rate in about Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright. There is no erosion. There is stubborn fouling from previous use that will swab out.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. There are some light scuffs and rubs that have caused slightly smooth spots to the matte finish. There are light handling marks and faint operational wear. The screw heads are strong the pinheads are unmarred. The markings are crisp. Overall, this shotgun rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The capacity is 5+1 of 2 3/4″ shells. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: The Model M1 Super 90 is a semi-automatic shotgun manufactured by Benelli. It is available in several versions for civilian, law enforcement and military use. It features the proprietary Benelli recoil system, known for its reliability and easy maintenance. Due to the inertia recoil system, the M1 should use heavier loads to cycle properly but because the action is inertia driven vs. the traditional gas cycling operation it can fire and reliably cycle lighter loads. A few of us at the shop own M1 Super 90 shotguns and could not be happier! The ultra-reliable inertia system is low maintenance (unlike some of our significant others) and allows for reduced recoil as well. This Super 90 was made in 2002 and is configured with a ghost ring sighting system and synthetic stocks with a tactical pistol grip. This is a great option for home defense or tactical 3-gun competitions. If it’s good enough for the military, law enforcement, and professional competitors, it should do just fine defending your property. Please see our pictures and good luck!
